Lawrence Shankland has signed a long-term contract with Rangers FC, marking a major coup for the Glasgow giants. The deal is reportedly worth around £3.5 million.
Prior to joining Rangers, Shankland was offered a three-year deal by Hearts, the club he previously captained. However, he rejected the offer and opted to join Rangers instead.
It’s worth noting that Shankland’s contract with Hearts was set to expire, and he was considering his options as a free agent. Hearts’ CEO Andrew McKinlay had expressed willingness to reopen contract talks, but only within the club’s wage structure.
Calum Adamson has committed his future to Rangers, becoming one of three players to sign new contracts.
An American consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises became the majority owners this summer and are keen on keeping the talented youngsters at the club.
Russell Martin also joined under the new hierarchy and he has a monumental task on his hands in the coming weeks.
Calum Adamson, Max Cameron and Jack Wyllie agree new two-year contracts
According to Fabrizio Romano, Max Cameron and Jack Wyllie have also put pen to paper on new deals, along with Adamson.
The trio have committed the next two years of their career to the Ibrox outfit.
Cameron is a left-footed winger who is 16 and has not yet made a mark for the youth sides.
17-year-old Wyllie is a centre-back who, like Adamson, has represented Scotland at the Under-17s level.
Rangers are rightly prioritising youth development.

The new Rangers owners are wisely prioritising youth development to ensure long-term success.
With a £20million investment, their focus on the academy as the lifeblood of the club is the right approach.
By emphasising structured loans to competitive leagues and integrating prospects like Findlay Curtis into the first team, Rangers are fostering a sustainable pipeline of homegrown players, reducing reliance on expensive transfers.
