Hamza Igamane ‘agrees terms’ on Rangers exit as goalscoring EFL defender targeted for Ibrox transfer

There’s big news one in and one potential out at Ibrox this morning

Hamza Igamane is reported to have agreed terms on a move away from Rangers – as it emerges that Peterborough defender Emmanuel Fernandez is a target for Russell Martin.

It’s been a busy window at Ibrox to say the least and news that Max Aarons is finally in the door is expected to kick off a signing avalanche.

But before we get to the latest on that front, there’s some major outgoing news to report. Because it’s being claimed that striker Igamane has agreed terms on a move to Lille.

Igamane hit the ground running in his first season at Ibrox, scoring 16 times – averaging a goal for every 165 minutes he played.

Still only 22, he’s had plenty of flattering glances but it now seems things have gone up a gear with Lille zeroing in.

Transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported overnight that Lille have ‘chosen’ the Moroccan as Jonathan David’s replacement as the Canadian looks set to join Juventus.

It’s even claimed that he has ‘agreed terms’ on the move after a meeting on Wednesday – with Lille now in talks with Rangers to agree a deal.

Any sale would dwarf the £1.7m Rangers paid to sign him a year ago and would likely represent a substantial boost to Martin’s coffers as he rebuilds things at Ibrox – though whether he or the new owners are open to parting with Igamane remains to be seen.

On the incoming front, we’ve already heard Peterborough star Kwame Poku’s name mentioned recently but it’s now being claimed that his teammate Emmanuel Fernandez is also a firm target.

The Daily Mail say the towering centre-back, whose signature eye for goal has made him a favourite for the League One side down south, is ‘on the radar’ for a move to Ibrox.
