Bournemouth full-back Max Aarons is currently in Glasgow finalising his season-long loan move to Rangers, according to Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam.

The defender has completed a medical ahead of joining the Ibrox club and is now going through the final stages of the paperwork.

Rangers are ready to support new manager Russell Martin, and a reunion with the right-back is on the cards.

Martin played alongside Aarons at Norwich City, and they are now set to work together as Rangers look to challenge for the Scottish Premiership title next term.

The former England youth international spent the second half of last term on loan with La Liga club Valencia and does not have a future with the Cherries.

Aarons has almost 100 Premier League appearances to his name, and his ability to also feature as a left-back will come in handy. He will provide quality competition for captain James Tavernier.

Rangers need quality signings this summer after finishing the 2024-25 season without a trophy and 17 points behind Celtic.

New chairman Andrew Cavenagh appears to be ready to put his money where his mouth is.

Martin will be expected to hit the ground running next term after he was chosen ahead of Davide Ancelotti to become the next permanent manager of the club.

The former Southampton boss brings much-needed experience to the dugout, but he needs a major squad overhaul to compete with Celtic, which could take more than two summer transfer windows.
