APPROVED AGREEMENT;Rangers and Celtic on verge of major partnership agreements’

Rangers and Celtic’s rivalry means both clubs are always trying to outwit each other as they attempt to get a slim advantage in the title race.

Russell Martin will be hoping to finally knock his Old Firm rivals off their perch next season after returning to Ibrox as manager.

Signings will no doubt be needed if the Gers are to overtake Celtic in the short term.

However, the academies of both clubs could be the key to their long-term success over their rivals.

Rangers set to strike partnership with Raith Rovers

Rangers’ academy has produced numerous exciting players at Ibrox who have gone on to have successful careers.

Former interim manager Barry Ferguson had a very successful period at the Gers after progressing through the youth system.

However, in recent years, Rangers have struggled to produce players of similar quality.

Now, the Gers have found a potential solution to help their academy stars reach their potential.

According to Alan Nixon (10 June), numerous Scottish Premiership clubs are looking to partner with Scottish Championship sides to loan out young players.

The loan system would see up to five players available to move to the partner club, and this can be done in a regular basis and not just when the two windows are open rangers and Raith Rovers are likely to pair up, whereas Ayr United are battling with Queen’s Park to secure a deal with Celtic.

This comes as the rules are relaxed to help young talents play senior football quicker.

Raith Rovers partnership could revolutionise Rangers’ academy

The issue with playing youth players at Rangers is that the Gers cannot afford to slip up in any of their Scottish Premiership matches if they want to beat Celtic to the title.
