Celtic Midfielder Poised for Early Parkhead Departure

Celtic midfielder Daniel Kelly recently agreed to a pre-contract with Millwall, and is set to join the English Championship side in January when his current Hoops deal expires.

However, the Daily Record reports that Celtic have accepted a £400,000-plus add-ons deal for him to join Neil Harris’ side this coming week, with Kelly reportedly already in London.

Whether a move to Millwall will prove to be what Kelly’s career needs remains to be seen, as the grass isn’t always greener after leaving Celtic Park.

The Record also reports that the Scottish midfielder rejected a new four-year deal at Celtic earlier this summer, which would have offered him around £5,000 a week.

This led to Kelly being moved back to the B team setup after previously training with the first team, following his rejection of the new deal.

It was a strong signal from Brendan Rodgers that he could manage without him in the squad.

Francis Turley has found himself in the first team set up this season after securing his future with the club. The Hoops boss rewarding loyalty and talent.
