Van Nistelrooy reveals he doesn’t want Leicester job in new low for Foxes
The final day of the 2024/25 season has concluded – and Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy still somehow has a job. Although, van Nistelrooy dropped a bombshell when he was asked about staying on with the Foxes after losing another match. Following the latest loss to Bournemouth, the former Manchester United centre forward revealed that he doesn’t want to stay on. That is, unless LCFC bosses make some changes and promises to the Dutchman.
So it seems as though the East Midlands outfit have unfortunately reached a new low. They can’t even convince a head coach who they probably don’t particularly want to stay! Let’s learn what the 48-year-old said exactly, along with analysing what this means for the King Power team next year. Will van Nistelrooy soon be sacked as is widely forecasted? And which boss is likely to eventually arrive in Leicestershire?
Ruud van Nistelrooy has revealed he doesn’t want Foxes job without guarantees in a new low for Leicester City
Van Nistelrooy has got some nerve if you ask me. He joins the club, takes us down in feeble fashion and then says he’s not sure he would actually remain in charge if given the unlikely opportunity. Just read the quote for yourself below:
“Whether van Nistelrooy wants to remain in charge “depends on how the conversations go”, the Dutchman said.
Asked about his plans for next season, he said: “I still have to wait at least to have a conversation on a future together or not. Before that you cannot start planning.”

On the other hand (just to contradict myself), it is easy to see why van Nistelrooy would be disillusioned by his role and the state of affairs on Filbert Way. He was given minimal help in any department, as well as inheriting a substandard and poorly motivated squad.
