West Ham ‘transfer imminent’ as new striker spotted at London Stadium

West Ham were reminded once more of how badly they need attacking reinforcements in their 2-1 loss against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Although Graham Potter’s men dominated in terms of possession, passes and shots, the Hammers equalled Forest when it came to shots on target, with five each.

The opposition were able to put their chances away with more ease, though, and Jarrod Bowen’s goal proved not to be enough to salvage anything.

Potter will go into the transfer window knowing that bolstering his options in the final third will be key, with one move already close.

Daniel Cummings spotted as West Ham look to solve striker issues

With the summer transfer window fast approaching, Potter needs to have a plan in place, with plenty of work to be done.

Although the 49-year-old has reassured supporters that only minor tweaks are needed, with several players exiting the London Stadium, there will have to be several changes.

West Ham have lined up young Celtic striker Daniel Cummings for months now, with a pre-contract deal agreed and medical already completed.

The 19-year-old is yet to get regular first-team minutes under his belt, but Potter has previously promised that if the youngster did move to East London, senior involvement would be on the cards.

It seems as though everything is progressing, too, as a picture was shared on X by West Ham Geezer (18 May) of Cummings in the stands at the London Stadium for the game against Nottingham Forest.

It’s suggested that his signing could be imminent.

Potter ready for summer with West Ham

West Ham will certainly need more than the addition of a 19-year-old striker to bolster their squad ahead of next season, but this shows signs that work could well be underway behind the scenes.
