Coventry City fans have been having their say on Callum O’Hare’s decision to follow another club favourite, Gustavo Hamer, to Sheffield United.
The big surprise, however, is that the attacking midfielder joins the Blades in the Championship rather then 12 months ago when Hamer joined United in the Premier League. That said, O’Hare will see his free transfer move from the Sky Blues to Bramall Lane as a stepping stone to the top flight, with Chris Wilder’s men expected to be competing for a swift return to the top table of English football.
Explaining the reasons behind his decision to join the South Yorkshire club, O’Hare said: “I am buzzing to be here. It is a big club; I had some interest from some other teams and other leagues but I just thought that this was the right step in my career so I can’t wait to go out there now and play.
“I have a lot of time for the players, fans and coaches at Coventry, they have been a big part of my life and my career, but I just felt that it was the right time to move on. I met Chris Wilder in Birmingham and from there I obviously knew what a top man he was. He kept in touch and since then the conversations kept flowing and I knew he was definitely the right person to work under.”
