SHOCKING NEWS;Everton star has signed and accepted Leeds bid to play for new club
Everton look as though they could be in regular contact with Leeds United this summer.
Angus Kinnear has been terminated by Leeds ahead of taking over as Everton’s Chief Executive Officer at the beginning of June.
It looks as though Nick Hammond is set to follow Kinnear from Leeds to Merseyside.
However, the Whites are keen to ensure business with Everton isn’t one-way traffic and are now interested in signing a player from the Toffees.
Leeds want to sign Beto from Everton
As reported by Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports News (7 May), Leeds have a transfer budget of more than £100million this summer as they look to consolidate their position in the Premier League, and are keen on Everton’s Beto.
Leeds are willing to spend as much as £30million on a new forward amid their interest in Beto [Sky Sports].
However, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes the Toffees would require a much larger fee to consider a sale.
“I don’t think there would be a deal between the two clubs,” King said.
“I wouldn’t want to leave Everton to go to Leeds just because they’ve come up – they could just as easily go down. I’m not into that deal at all, and certainly not because Kinnear is going to Everton. Why would he want to help Leeds?
“And why would Everton want to get rid of a striker who is scoring goals. Beto still has two years left on his contract. Therefore, £80million, maybe Everton would consider it. However, why would Beto go to Leeds? If I were Everton, I would turn down any offers.”
Everton need to make a decision on Beto
It looks as though Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to leave Everton. Therefore, the Toffees could only really afford to sell Beto this summer if they sign another striker.
