49ers immediately react after ‘major’ Leeds United development
49ers Enterprises took to social media after a major Leeds United development on Monday.
It was a happy Easter Monday (21 April) for Daniel Farke and his players as the Whites thrashed Stoke City 6-0 at Elland Road to return to the top of the Championship.
However, not everybody was expected to be happy, with Dan James thought to be gutted as he watched on from the sidelines in West Yorkshire.
Meanwhile, Farke was annoyed with one Leeds player despite the huge victory. However, the German likely wouldn’t have stayed mad for long after what happened later on Monday.
49ers delighted after Leeds development
Leeds’ win over Stoke, which saw Joël Piroe do something no Leeds player has ever done, put them on the verge of returning to the Premier League.
And their return to England’s top flight would be confirmed later that day, with Erling Haaland sharing his reaction, as second-placed Burnley beat third-placed Sheffield United 2-1 at Turf Moor, which saw the Clarets book their place in the Premier League too.
Leeds owners, the 49ers Enterprises, shared their reaction via X (21 April), posting “LET’S GO!!” in response to Leeds United’s official account tweeting about their return to the Premier League.
Leeds must look to avoid relegation from the Premier League
For now, Farke and his players should be celebrating. However, once the dust settles, attention must quickly turn toward the task at hand.
This season’s bottom three in the Premier League are the same three teams who were promoted last season, with Southampton and Leicester City’s relegation already confirmed, and Ipswich Town set to join them soon, barring the most remarkable of turnarounds.
Therefore, while returning to the Premier League is a major achievement, Leeds must now ensure they avoid relegation next season.
