55-capped international accepts offer to leave West Ham, now David Sullivan just has to agree a fee
There will be a huge turnover amongst the playing staff at West Ham United this summer.
And West Ham co-owner David Sullivan will have to be on top form during negotiations, if Graham Potter is to be handed an adequate summer transfer window budget.
It has been widely reported that West Ham need to sell before they can buy this summer.
That’s not great really is it, given the amount of players Potter needs to bring to the London Stadium.
The Hammers need a complete overhaul, and Potter is said to be keen to add more dynamism and youth to his ranks.
In order for that to happen though, West Ham will not just have to get rid of the deadwood, but will have to sell at least one of the high earners as well.
And it seems like one player in particular is destined to leave the club this summer.
Lucas Paqueta accepts offer to leave West Ham
The past 18 months or so have been really challenging for Lucas Paqueta.
He is currently in the midst of a spot-fixing trial, with the outcome still very much up in the air.
Paqueta faces a lifetime ban if he is found guilty of the charges levelled against him.
However, if he avoids that kind of punishment, it seems like he could be set for a return to his homeland in the summer.
Bolavip Brasil claim that Paqueta has accepted a huge pay-cut in order to help facilitate a move to Flamengo this summer.
All that’s left now is for Sullivan to agree a transfer fee with the Brazilian club for the 27-year-old play-maker.
The fee West Ham want for Paqueta
The 55-capped Brazil international has proven to be a poor signing for the Hammers in truth.
