Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City may now be forced to consider selling ‘wonderful’ player on Man Utd’s radar following relegation

Manchester United fans will spare a thought for Ruud van Nistelrooy after his Leicester City side suffered relegation.

Ruben Amorim saw Manchester United lose 1-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.

United’s 5-4 win over Lyon on Thursday night didn’t provide a Premier League springboard, with Amorim’s side again failing to find the net.

This was a major disappointment for United, but former Old Trafford goal machine Ruud van Nistelrooy endured a much worse day.

Leicester City lost 1-0 at home to Liverpool, confirming their relegation to the Championship.

Van Nistelrooy took the Leicester job in November having left United, but hasn’t been able to save the Foxes from the drop.

Leicester City may sell Manchester United target Mads Hermansen

Van Nistelrooy has put together two major losing runs at Leicester and his move to the King Power Stadium really hasn’t worked out.

United fans always want the best for Van Nistelrooy, but he will certainly be hurting after Sunday’s defeat and subsequent relegation.

The Telegraph now report that Van Nistelrooy will hold talks with Leicester over his future, with the Dutchman potentially on the move again.

It’s also claimed that Leicester may now be forced to sell anybody from their squad in order to balance the books.

That includes goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, with the report suggesting that United have shown an interest in the Dane in the past.

Reports in January suggested that United had looked at Hermansen as a potential addition between the sticks.

Chelsea have also shown an interest in Hermansen with his former Foxes boss Enzo Maresca in charge at Stamford Bridge.

United are in the market for goalkeepers this summer and Hermansen could be an option following Leicester’s relegation – and their need to sell.
