“Take a Leaf From the Book of Celtic” – Rangers Pundit Reacts to Tuesday Night Defeat

Sports commentator David Tanner has suggested that Rangers consider revamping their pre-match rituals at Ibrox, following their recent Champions League exit.

Tanner pointed to Celtic’s approach as a model suggesting Rangers should follow suit. Celtic play some dance music and have their disco lights on the go before a big European match.

Rangers faced a pleasing defeat, losing 3-1 on aggregate to Dynamo Kyiv, with the “home” match seeing them reduced to ten men and conceding two goals while playing at Hampden due to renovations at Ibrox. This loss has led to various criticisms of the team’s performance and controversial refereeing decisions.

However, Tanner shifted focus to the pre-match atmosphere, criticizing it as ‘flat’ and suggesting that the music and presentation could use an overhaul to better inspire fans and players alike.

He commended Celtic’s effective use of music and entertainment to get the atmosphere started.

He said: “The atmosphere was flat tonight. Even the pre-match show and the music that Rangers played did not in any way inspire the supporters.

“They can take a leaf from the book of Celtic with their terrific pre-match playlist.”

It will only be Celtic in the Champions League group stages this season, flying the flag for Scotland.
