SHOCKING NEWS; Daniel Farke has finally terminated Ethan Ampadu contract deal with club due to…

Leeds United could finally seal their return to the Premier League should results go their way over the Easter weekend.

Daniel Farke’s men are currently top of the Championship, and while there is only goal difference between them and Burnley, they have a solid five-point gap over Sheffield United in third place.

A top two finish would guarantee the Whites automatic promotion to the Premier League, but Leeds will be hoping they can win the league to finish the season in style.

Ethan Ampadu contract clause emerges

Ethan Ampadu has played a key role in Leeds’ season, with the club captain being an important figure both on and off the pitch.

That has been the case ever since the Wales international made the move to Elland Road, and there’s no doubt he will be part of Farke’s Premier League plans.

The 24-year-old was developed within a Premier League system at Chelsea’s youth team, but before he joined the Blues, he played for Exeter City.

Ampadu kickstarted his career at Exeter in 2008, and even though he only made eight first-team appearances before joining Chelsea, the Grecians can still benefit from him.

Exeter’s CEO Joe Gorma revealed to Bizof Sport on TikTok that, “If Leeds get promoted this season, we get an amount of money [from Ampadu]. The only time it ends is if he were to leave on a free transfer.”

It’s uncertain whether that payment would be from Leeds or Chelsea.

Ethan Ampadu has proven his versatility

Ampadu is a player who has been deployed in various positions over the past two years at Leeds United, having featured as a centre back and a defensive midfielder at times.

Farke often ensures that he’s a key part of the squad, with Ampadu’s quality being a key benefit to the Leeds team overall.
