Rangers to build new-look team under two transformed players
Nico Raskin and Hamza Igamane are the two players who 49ers Enterprises want to build a transformed Rangers team around, sources have told Football Insider.
Rangers only have a handful of games left to play this season, particularly if they exit the Europa League in their quarter-final second leg with Athletic Bilbao on Thursday, ahead of a seismic summer of change.
49ers Enterprises’ anticipated arrival at Ibrox is set to bring about sweeping changes both on and off the pitch, with a decision on Rangers’ new permanent manager set to be announced at the end of the season.
Prior to that, sources have told Football Insider that the 49ers are determined to keep hold of the best players in Barry Ferguson‘s squad, namely Raskin and Igamane.
49ers’ Rangers plan revolves around Raskin and Igamane
Once a new manager is in post, attention will turn to the transfer market, with Football Insider revealing the 49ers want to make six new signings in an effort to build the nucleus of a new-look Rangers team.
Raskin, who has often been the Gers’ stand-in captain this term, is seen by Football Insider‘s Ibrox sources as the “key player” whom Rangers will be desparate to keep hold of amid interest from Leeds United.
Igamane has attracted even more transfer attention from sides south of the border, with Football Insider revealing last month that Everton are the best-placed side to sign the Morocco striker.
However, sources have told Football Insider that the 49ers will make money available to Rangers’ next manager, and whoever that proves to be could be minded to offer new contracts to Raskin and Igamane.
Rangers ready for significant summer spending spree
The 49ers’ arrival at Ibrox could reshape the current landscape which has developed in the Premiership, with Rangers’ new manager set to be given a £25million transfer budget in order to transform the squad.
