Leeds ready Patrick Bamford replacement as exit news emerges at Elland Road

Patrick Bamford looks destined to leave Leeds United this summer despite having one more year remaining on his contract.

Bamford has been a loyal servant for Leeds since joining them from Middlesbrough in 2018, but has fallen down the pecking order this season, primarily due to fitness issues.

The Englishman has shown glimpses of his quality since returning to action this month and had a goal in the 1-0 win against Middlesbrough on 8 April wrongly disallowed.

However, with the Whites on course for Premier League promotion, Daniel Farke seemingly wants more reliable and consistent options up front.

Leeds want long-term Bamford replacement

This is why Leeds could look to offload Bamford at the end of the season, despite his contract running until next summer.

Meanwhile, the West Yorkshire outfit are also laying the groundwork to bring in a long-term replacement for the 31-year-old.
The news outlet reported via their website on Monday (14 April) that Leeds are keeping tabs on Evan Ferguson‘s situation at Brighton and loan club West Ham United ahead of the summer.
Ferguson has emerged as a potential option to fill the void that would be left by Bamford at LS11.
The Ireland international is currently on loan at West Ham, who do not have the option to make the move permanent and have shown no signs they want to do that.
However, Everton are in the mix to sign Ferguson if he becomes available, with Brighton prepared to sell him.

Ferguson could move to Elland Road

Ferguson was highly rated when he initially broke through at Brighton, but has struggled for form this season.

The 20-year-old scored just once for the Seagulls before joining West Ham on loan in the winter transfer window.
