Bayer Leverkusen want to seal transfer of Rangers star
Rangers could reportedly be fielding interest from Bayer Leverkusen for one of their players in the summer.
It is set to be a busy summer at Ibrox with a new manager and new owners expected to be in place.
Along with that, there will be ins and outs surrounding the first-team personnel as well.
Hamza Igamane on Leverkusen’s radar
Hamza Igamane is a name that’s expected to come up a lot in the next few months as he’s linked with an exit from Ibrox.
The Moroccan seemed to be closing in on a move in January but stayed put amid interest from Tottenham and Everton.
The Premier League duo are understood to retain an interest in the 22-year-old and could look to sign him in the summer.
Marseille, too, are keen on Igamane and are even preparing a bid to sign him.
TEAMtalk are reporting that Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are also keen on signing the Moroccan and selling him could see Gers making a “big profit”
Rangers may find it hard to keep Igamane at Ibrox
While Igamane is not firing in goals in every game as he was some time back, the talent is there for everyone to see.
At a more established side, in the right system, he could be someone who scores 10-15 league goals in Europe’s top five leagues.
If Leverkusen seriously make an attempt to sign him, they could succeed, as he’ll have the chance to play in the Champions League and also challenge for the Bundesliga title.
Should Xabi Alonso stay for another year, he will have the chance to work with one of the game’s best young managers.
This is precisely why Gers might find it hard to retain his services, but on the plus side, they could profit a great deal from his sale.
