Leeds United minority owner confirms his investment in the club after Elland Road visit
Former Rangers star DaMarcus Beasley has confirmed he has invested in Leeds United
Much is often made of the Leeds United ownership model that allows small and large investors to boast a stake in the company, and famous names to be a part of that ownership. Red Bull may have a minority stake in the company, but it’s far larger than what many sporting celebrities can boast as part of the 49ers Enterprises group.
The 49ers model allows people to buy a tiny stake in the investment group and in turn own a very small percentage of all things Leeds United. It’s led to famous names such as actors Will Ferrell and Russel Crowe, golfers Jordan Speith and Justin Thomas, and Olympian Michael Phelps all become part of the extended Leeds family after investing in 49ers Enterprises.
Now, a new name has emerged as an investor after former USA international DaMarcus Beasley confirmed on social media he has a minority stake in the Whites. The former Rangers star will be especially happy if the 49ers complete their expected takeover of his old club, with a deal to acquire the Glasgow giants said to be very close.
Beasley was at Elland Road at the weekend to see Leeds move a big step closer to promotion with a 2-1 victory over Preston North End, taking the chance to celebrate with countryman Brenden Aaronson. Writing on X, Beasley said. “Incredible atmosphere at Elland Road… great performance and 3pts. Good to see the homie Brenden after the match! Truly honored to be a small part of the Leeds United family.”
Beasley also boasts an investment in American side Fort Wayne FC and now joins the list of confirmed former players and celebrities who have been keen to join the Leeds United journey by making an investment into the club.
