West Ham United unlikely to sack Graham Potter despite poor results
West Ham United manager Graham Potter is under a lot of pressure after his team’s disappointing performances in recent weeks.
A report from Football Insider has claimed that West Ham United will not sack Graham Potter, and they will be patient with the former Chelsea manager.
West Ham have dropped to 17th in the Premier League table after failing to win any of their last five top-flight matches. Despite losing some of their recent outings, their performances have been quite impressive. The Hammers were beaten by Liverpool 2-1 on Sunday, but they dominated Liverpool for a large parts of the game.
The progress is clearly visible, and West Ham must stick with Graham Potter and back him with quality signings in the summer. The former Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion manager inherited a vulnerable squad from his predecessor, and he must be given the opportunity to bring in his own signings in the summer transfer window.
West Ham have the bones of a very good squad, and they could challenge for a top-half finish with the right additions in the summer. If they can bring in a reliable centre-forward, it could make a world of difference for them.
Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus have created multiple opportunities this season, but West Ham have lacked a clinical finisher who can finish those chances. They will need to improve in the middle of the park as well. The Hammers must invest in a quality midfielder who will help them dominate possession.
West Ham should back Potter in the market
Graham Potter has previously proven himself at Brighton & Hove Albion, and there is no doubt that he is good enough to succeed at West Ham as well. Too much chopping and changing might not be a wise move, and the East London club should remain patient with Potter for now.
