Leicester City loanee reveals his season is ‘now over’, he will return to the King Power Stadium

Leicester City may have struggled throughout the 2024/25 campaign but some of their players are flourishing out on loan.

In the summer, Sheffield United signed Harry Souttar on loan, as the Blades aim to win automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Hamza Choudhury was then loaned to United in January, with the 27-year-old slotting superbly into the starting lineup as a midfield destroyer.

Elsewhere, Cardiff City signed Will Alves, and the 19-year-old most recently scored his first senior goal in a 2-2 draw with Preston.

But while the likes of Alves and Choudhury are flying in the Championship, one other star has revealed is season is now over and he will return to the King Power Stadium.

Brandon Cover confirms his season is ‘now over’

It’s been a topsy-turvy campaign for Brandon Cover. He joined Port Vale on loan in the summer of 2024 and he scored two goals in 20 appearances before Leicester recalled Cover in January.

The 21-year-old was then sent to Fleetwood for the remainder of the 2024/25 season however, he’s made just eight appearances for the Cod Army and has been an unused substitute on seven occasions.

Cover’s form has declined after joining Fleetwood in the transfer window, and he’s since confirmed that his season is now over via his Instagram story.

The Jamaican hasn’t detailed why he’s returned to Leicester prematurely, although injury is perhaps the likely reason.

Cover’s 2024/25 stats

While 15-year-old Jeremy Monga made his Premier League debut on Monday night, fellow academy graduate Cover is far from reaching those levels.

The attacking full-back has struggled to nail down a starting place in League One and perhaps hasn’t done enough to warrant a spot in Leicester’s first-team squad in the Championship next term.
