Man United need to sack staff member over shock Leeds news

Leeds United have a goalkeeping problem, but their historic rivals Manchester United could now help solve this.

Illan Meslier has been well below par all season, and has cost Leeds valuable points in the promotion race on several occasions.

Leeds have now fumbled their lead at the top of the Championship, with a 1-1 draw at Luton Town seeing the Whites drop into third place and out of the automatic promotion spots.

The draw at Luton saw Daniel Farke finally drop Meslier for Karl Darlow after months of calls to change goalkeeper, and the Frenchman is now expected to leave.

Manchester United interested in Leeds goalkeeper Meslier

With Leeds fans now fed up with Meslier, the 25-year-old is expected to leave in the summer regardless of whether the club returns to the Premier League or not.

It is claimed that Man United goalkeeping scout Tony Coton is a long-term admirer of Meslier, and could push the club to move for the Leeds goalkeeper.
Leeds fans would find this move hilarious and surprising in equal measure, and clearly Coton has not been watching the Whites at Elland Road this season.

Man United move for Meslier is ‘sackable offence’

It is unclear whether United’s interest in Meslier is as a second-choice option behind Andre Onana, or as a replacement for the Cameroonian.

Either way, Coton’s interest in Meslier is almost unexplainable. United have watched Meslier cost a key rival crucial points, and Leeds’ season has been significantly damaged by his performances.

Meslier’s mistakes in key moments, as well as his lack of confidence on crosses, could see him become a disaster at Man United.
