GOOD NEWS;Rangers Management announces the exit of goalkeeper-Jack Butland after what he did

Jack Butland is proving to be more of a hindrance than a help to Rangers at the moment.

Barry Ferguson‘s side have conceded seven goals in their last three matches and the 32-year-old has been far from his best.

The Gers suffered an embarrassing 2-0 defeat to Hibernian at Ibrox (5 April) and the former Stoke stopper was in the headlines once again, for the wrong reasons.

Butland slammed for horrific Hibernian blunder

Hibernian opened the scoring through Dylan Levitt in the eighth minute but Butland should have spared Rangers blushes by saving the chance.

However, he let the ball go under him and into the net as he tried to make the save in another uncharacteristic blunder.

Michael Stewart was baffled by the error and has questioned whether Butland can continue with some huge matches on the horizon for the Glasgow outfit.

Speaking on Sportscene (5 April, 19:28 pm), he said: “It’s a good strike, no doubt he catches it really well but Jack Butland is a top-class goalkeeper and unfortunately, at the moment he is making far too many regular mistakes.

“Rangers do not have their troubles to seek, when you have got one of your top performers causing problems like this and creating issues, it just magnifies the other problems that they have.

“I think this is a huge problem for Barry Ferguson because there is no easy answer, does he make the change? Then it almost kills the rest of the season for Jack Butland.

“Or he sticks with him but then you’re hoping desperately that he doesn’t have one of these terrible errors that he is prone to at the moment.”

Rangers need Butland to step up

The Light Blues have the chance to turn one of the most dismal campaigns in their history into a magical one, if they can lift the Europa League trophy.
