Everton and West Ham are both interested in signing £40m Man United player

Both Everton and West Ham United could offer Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof a route to stay in England this summer, TBR Football can exclusively reveal. 

Lindelof arrived at Man United three years after current Everton boss David Moyes was let go at Old Trafford, a Jose Mourinho signing in 2017.

At the time, Mourinho said he was happy to welcome a ‘very talented young player’ to the club, but after 273 appearances Lindelof is now set to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.

A number of clubs on the continent have shown an interest in signing Lindelof, however the Sweden international might also get the opportunity to continue his stay in the Premier League.

Everton and West Ham considering bargain move for Victor Lindelof

Graeme Bailey – TBR Football chief correspondent, understands that both Everton and West Ham are showing an interest in 30-year-old Lindelof.

As mentioned, Lindelof is available on a free transfer and a number of clubs in Germany and Italy have held talks with his camp.

In fact, Lindelof’s former club Benfica, who United paid £40m to sign the defender from, have also discussed a possible return to Portugal.

However, English sides could compete for the United defender’s signature with both Everton and West Ham leading the way in that regard as things stand.

TBR can also share that Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers are keeping tabs on Lindelof’s situation, who seems unlikely to be short of suitors.

Interestingly, Lindelof did speak about his future whilst away on international duty with Sweden recently.

Although he hasn’t often played for United this season, Lindelof has remained a regular for Sweden, playing alongside the likes of Alexander Isak and Anthony Elanga.
