BEST SIGNING EVER;Nottingham Forest target has finally agree terms and conditions with club
Nottingham Forest tried desperately to sign a striker during the summer transfer window.
Evangelos Marinakis has worked on a new forward for two windows now, with frustration proving to be the order of the day.
Forest thought they’d signed one when talks with Eddie Nketiah went well, but the striker chose Crystal Palace after positive talks with Oliver Glasner.
Igor Jesus was wanted by Forest too, with Yoane Wissa and Matheus Cunha also among the players linked with moves to the City Ground.
Santiago Gimenez rejected Forest on a number of occasions and now he’s facing the ultimate embarrassment.
Santiago Gimenez misses penalty for AC Milan
The Mexican talisman didn’t think Forest’s ambitions matched his own and decided to wait for a bigger club.
In fairness to the striker, he’s achieved that in signing for AC Milan instead, but ultimately he could now suffer the ultimate embarrassment.
Gimenez missed a crucial penalty kick last night as the San Siro giants slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Napoli to leave their Champions League aspirations in tatters.
The result means that Milan are still in ninth place in the Serie A table and have an 11-point gap to make up between now and the end of the season.
Gimenez has largely been in decent form since signing for Milan, scoring three times and registering two assists in 11 appearances.
However, it’s Forest who have the better chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season and perhaps Gimenez won’t be playing in European competition at all.
Clearly, Gimenez will be remaining at Milan next season but Tammy Abraham could move to Forest.
With Abraham only on loan at the Serie A outfit, it feels unlikely they will try to sign him permanently with Gimenez now at the club.
