Cyriel Dessers issues Ibrox exit admission of Rangers teammate

Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers has openly spoken about the prospect of his teammate leaving Ibrox eventually.

The Nigeria international himself was linked with an exit in the January transfer window but ended up staying put at the club.

It’s unclear as to whether or not he will be a Gers player at the end of the summer as there is interest in his services.

Nicolas Raskin will seal Ibrox exit if he keeps getting better – Cyriel Dessers

Dessers was quizzed about Nicolas Raskin’s future at the club, given his impressive performances this season.

Recently, the 24-year-old made his senior debut for Belgium and impressed many with how good he was on the international stage.

Clubs from the Premier League even sent scouts to keep tabs on the midfielder ahead of a potential transfer.

While Dessers does not want Raskin to leave any time soon, he can understand why clubs are keen on signing him.

He told Sporza: “I see him at work every day of course and he is a strong player in a team full of internationals. So I know he can handle that level.

He is doing really well and with this match at the Red Devils there will be interest from other teams. I sometimes have those conversations with him, also because I am older.”

“I think he can go very far. In the Serie A I saw players in the 6 who are no better than Nico, so he can go to the sub-top in a top competition. But it is important to take the right step to a competition and a team that suit his style.”

But if he continues to evolve like this, it will happen (Ibrox exit) automatically. Although we need him for the time being before he takes that big step”
