Vaclav Cerny ‘getting out of Glasgow’ ahead of inevitable Rangers exit

Rangers star Vaclav Cerny is under increasing scrutiny after spraying water at Celtic fans while celebrating Hamza Igamane’s late winner in Sunday’s Old Firm Derby.

The Gers’ 3-2 victory at Celtic Park was a welcome turn of events for interim boss Barry Ferguson, but one of his star men Cerny is now at the centre of a Police Scotland probe.

The Czechia international could also be handed an eight-game ban by the Scottish FA, which would see him miss the remainder of the Premiership season.

Thanks to his actions, which have set tongues wagging on both sides of the Old Firm divide, Cerny has been tipped to leave Ibrox.

Darrell Currie suggests Cerny is leaving Rangers

While Cerny is still yet to face the ramifications of his actions at Celtic Park on Sunday, TV presenter Darrell Currie has suggested that the wideman could be set to depart Ibrox.

Currie told Premier Sports [19 March]: “As soon as I saw him do it, I thought he must be leaving.

“He’s getting out the city, he must be away at the end of the season.

He’s getting himself in a lot of trouble Cerny, looks like he’s leaving anyway, doesn’t it?”

Rangers may want to retain Cerny’s services

Cerny has found himself at the centre of controversy following the Bears’ dramatic 3-2 victory at Celtic Park, but he has been a class act for his side this term.

Cerny has been a class act for the Gers this season

He is currently on loan with the Light Blues from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, but amid the increasingly imminent 49ers takeover at Ibrox, Rangers will be keen to acquire Cerny’s services permanently.

The former Ajax man has notched a strong return of 17 goals and seven assists in 44 appearances across all competitions for the Gers this campaign.
