Alex Rae celebrates with Rangers supporters in away end at Celtic Park

Alex Rae celebrated Rangers’ victory over Celtic with supporters in the away end at Parkhead.

The former Ibrox coach shared a video from full-time at Celtic Park after the 3-2 triumph.

Rae, who also played for Rangers, only left his role as a coach at the club last month.

He departed the club after Philippe Clement was dismissed by Rangers with Stephen van der Heyden also heading for the exit.

But, Rae has continued his support for the club by attending the derby fixture with supporters rather than previously when he was in the dugout as part of the backroom team.

Earlier this month, Rae opened up on working under Clement in a “real transitional period” as he hailed the tireless efforts of the Belgian coach.

Rae said of Clement: “I thought he was tremendous. His work ethic was second to none.

“He was first in and last out every single day. His attention to detail was second to none as well, and I’ve only got a huge amount of respect for Philippe.

“I thought he was a great guy.”

Nicolas Raskin praised by Brendan Rodgers

Heading into the match, Nicolas Raskin had pipped Celtic midfielder Arne Engels to a place in the Belgium international team squad.

Nicolas Raskin has been a stand-out for Rangers this season, especially in the Europa League, and the former Standard star was a key player in the Old Firm win at Parkhead.

The 24-year-old started the game brightly and stung Kasper Schmeical’s palms with an impressive left-foot drive before opening the scoring from the resultant corner.

Nipping in front of Jeffrey Schlupp to nod the ball into the far corner, Raskin’s header laid the foundation for an impressive victory for Rangers.
