Leeds ‘eyeing’ international striker currently playing in Saudi

Leeds United are said to be considering the striker market already ahead of the summer, with links emerging to a striker currently playing in Saudi Arabia.

Daniel Farke has one objective on his mind before even considering what the summer transfer window might look like at Elland Road.

Regardless of the division that Leeds end up in when the season is up, investment in the striker department is probably going to be important.

Leeds eyeing move for Almeria’s Ibrahima Kone

A report from Africa Foot this week has shared that Leeds have their eyes on a move for UD Almeria striker and Mali international Ibrahima Kone.

Kone, 25, is currently on loan in Saudi Arabia with Al-Okhdood, scoring three and assisting one in 14 appearances this season.

Would you take Kalvin Phillips back at Leeds?

Described in the report as a “bull” of a 6ft3in striker, Kone is now on the radar of Leeds after previous failed attempts from both Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United.

The striker is contracted until the summer of 2028, and holds a release clause valuing £8.4million at Almeria, his parent club.

Leeds need a unique striker option and Kone could be worth it

His goal record is far from ideal, and that might turn Leeds and any other clubs away from him going into the summer window.

That being said, his strong frame and height is something that Leeds definitely could do with as an option in their squad.

Leeds don’t really have a robust striker in their squad right now that would not only lead the line, but also win aerial duels consistently.

If Kone was viewed with that in mind, then it’s worth considering.
