Rangers well placed to sign ‘Cyriel Dessers replacement’ from Scots rivals
Rangers are looking at St Mirren striker Toyosi Olusanya as a potential replacement for Cyriel Dessers, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that there will be “speculation” about Dessers’ future when the transfer window opens again in the summer.
The 30-year-old had been linked with a move away from Ibrox during the January transfer window, and industry insider Mick Brown told Football Insider that Rangers are open to offers for him.
The Gets are prepared to sell the controversial striker for the right price, with supporters and pundits having called him out for his lack of consistency during his tenure at the club.

That has led to Rangers considering other options and Olusanya has found himself at the top of the list after a good season at St Mirren.
Rangers are well aware of his talent and what he could bring to the team, especially since he performed well against them earlier this season.
Toyosi Olusanya is proven at the top level
The 27-year-old is seen as someone who would “tick a lot of boxes” for Rangers, regardless of who ends up being the permanent manager.
He is proven in the Scottish Premiership due to his time at St Mirren and therefore wouldn’t need any time to adapt, as he has scored eight goals this season in the league.
He’s someone who could be put straight into the team and add something to the squad which is why Rangers are looking at him as a potential option.
Rangers need to identify a permanent manager
One of the big issues that Rangers have heading into the summer transfer window is that they currently don’t have a permanent manager, with Barry Ferguson only in charge on a temporary basis.
