Mauricio Pochettino gives his honest verdict on returning to Tottenham
Mauricio Pochettino has been discussing the possibility of one day returning to Tottenham Hotspur, almost five and a half years on from his sacking.
Pochettino spent six seasons in charge of Tottenham Hotspur in which he did a remarkable job as he had the club regularly competing for major honours.
His time in North London never saw him deliver a trophy as they finished runners up in the Premier League, Champions League, League Cup and FA Cup semi finalists.
Many supporters have always felt that one day the Argentine would return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and he has now opened up that possibility.
Mauricio Pochettino reveals his desire to return to Tottenham
Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he would one day like to return to Tottenham as he feels he has unfinished business in the capital.
The current United States national team coach wants to return to finish what he started at Spurs, with the next time hopefully producing silverware.
Pochettino, who’s backed Ange Postecoglou to turn things around at Tottenham, revealed that ever since he was sacked he hoped that one day he would return to the club.
Pochettino told TalkSPORT: “To be honest, the day that I left the club, I always thought that one day I would come back. I was thinking before the US national team, I was thinking to come back, since I left, I was thinking I would love to come back to Tottenham.
I felt the moment that I left that I had unfinished business and that is why it is a dream. For sure, it’s a club that is always going to be special for me and I would like to one day have the possibility again to finish in a different way.”
