Alex Rae has told of the heartbreaking conversation he had with Rangers chief Patrick Stewart – in which he was told he was being sacked by his beloved club.

Philippe Clement was dismissed by the Ibrox CEO after a poor run of results including a Scottish Cup exit to Queen’s Park that the former Light Blues coach admits for him personally was ’embarrassing’. The Belgian has since been replaced in the dugout by interim manager Barry Ferguson and his backroom team of Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor.
