West Ham United officially sign Manchester United player released in summer 2025

The former Manchester United player has officially made the move to the London outfit as the Hammers aim for success this season.

West Ham United are one of twenty sides aiming for success in the 2025-26 Premier League.

The Hammers, who finished 14th in the English top flight last season – one place above Manchester United -, currently sit 19th in the league having recently sacked manager Graham Potter.

During the summer, the East London outfit signed nine players including Mateus Fernandes from Southampton – who were relegated from the Premier League last season -, Mads Hermansen from Leicester City, and Kyle Walker-Peters.

However, with just three points this season and with those points coming from a singular win, the Hammers arguably will be aiming for improvement as they aim to avoid the drop this season.

Now, the club have signed a new player, one who was released from Manchester United’s ranks last season.

On their website, West Ham United have officially announced the signing of Tom Wooster, who will join West Ham’s Under-21s development squad.

Wooster was part of the Red Devils’ released list at the end of the 2024-25 season.

The 20-year-old had undergone a successful trial with the club before signing a contract that runs until the end of the 2025-26 season, with the option to extend that contract by a further year.

But, Tom Wooster is not the first goalkeeper to be linked with a move to the Hammers this season following links between West Ham and Andre Onana.

However, the key difference in this is that these links were diminished with the East London outfit rejecting the prospect of a deal.

Meanwhile, the links between Tom Wooster and West Ham have resulted in the 20-year-old joining the club.

The goalkeeper will now join West Ham United’s Under-21s development squad.
