Everton pull plug on signing loan star permanently

Everton are expected to pull the plug on signing loanee Jack Harrison on a permanent basis, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 28-year-old might not have a long-term future at Goodison Park after consecutive seasons on loan at the club.

Everton have been looking to sign new wingers for the last couple of transfer windows, despite the players that they have available such as Harrison.

Well-placed sources have informed Football Insider that Everton’s pursuit of a new winger is now going to change in the summer transfer window.

David Moyes wants to inject more creativity and width into his side, with this being something he was notorious for during his initial spell in charge of the club with players such as Steven Pienaar.

Football Insider revealed Everton are on track to getting their finances back on track after an uncertain period, with Keith Wyness revealing the club could gain £8million from participating in the Premier League’s Summer Series event, which will bolster the transfer kitty.

Everton will pursue one of their loan players on a permanent deal

Everton might be unlikely to sign Harrison on a full-time deal, but they do have another winger on loan this season that they could end up signing.

Jesper Lindstrom has been used more frequently under Moyes than Harrison, which could lead to the club trying to buy him this summer.

Football Insider revealed Moyes will have the “final say” on Lindstrom’s future at the club as there is a deal ready to be done for him if the Everton boss wants to do it.

Jack Harrison has three years left on Leeds deal

Harrison’s long-term future at Goodison Park might be looking bleak, but he could still be set to play Premier League football next season regardless of if Moyes doesn’t sign him permanently.
