Big twist as £10 million West Ham star’s former club are desperately trying to re-sign him

One West Ham United player could be set to join his former club in the summer transfer window.

West Ham boss Graham Potter has a lot of work to do in the summer, if he is to get his team challenging for the European places again next season.

Potter has made huge strides since taking over at West Ham, and he’s clearly a class above Julen Lopetegui.

However, he has a lot of work to do with his squad at the London Stadium in the summer.

Numerous new additions are required.

However, there’s plenty of deadwood that needs to be shipped out as well.

And one Hammer in particular may well have already played his last game for us.

Guido Rodriguez could well never play for West Ham again

Of all Julen Lopetegui’s failures during his time at the London Stadium, pushing hard to sign Guido Rodriguez was arguably the worst of the lot.

He was said to be desperate to leave the Hammers in the January window, but he remained in East London in the end.

The 30-year-old moved to the Hammers from La Liga side Real Betis in the summer, and he has proven to be a complete disaster for us.

Rodriguez is painfully slow and lacks the physical attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.

Signing him and allowing James Ward-Prowse to join Nottingham Forest was a monumental error from the Hammers.

And now, I just can’t see how he gets back into the team.

I don’t think he’ll play for West Ham again, and he certainly won’t start another game for us barring a major injury crisis.

Big twist as West Ham could sell Guido Rodriguez to former club

According to a report from River Noticias, River Plate are desperately trying to bring the 30-year-old midfielder back to Estadio Monumental.
