Jarrad Branthwaite exit: Sources reveal new Everton offer amid three-way battle
Everton face a battle to keep Jarrad Branthwaite at the club ahead of the summer transfer window as they draw up plans for a new era at the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
Branthwaite has been heavily linked with a move away from Goodison Park in recent transfer windows, with Manchester United credited with a serious interest in signing the centre-back.
The 22-year-old was even the subject of interest from Real Madrid in the winter transfer window as Everton lingered around the relegation zone under Sean Dyche.
Although David Moyes has since steered the Toffees away from the drop zone, there are still doubts over Branthwaite’s long-term future at the Merseyside-based club.
Liverpool and Tottenham rival Manchester United for Branthwaite
Manchester United are expected to be in the race to sign Branthwaite, who is tipped to cost over £70million, in the summer, according to CaughtOffside.
The news outlet, reporting via their website on Tuesday (25 February), added that the Red Devils will face competition from Liverpool and Tottenham for the centre-back.
Meanwhile, Everton are determined to tie Branthwaite down to a long-term contract as they look to fend off interest from other clubs, as per their sources.
Therefore, the Blues intend to offer the Englishman a contract until 2029 or 2030 and make him one of the highest-paid players at the club, although it remains to be seen if the player is willing to accept it.
Everton prepare for new era
Everton have had a few years of turmoil under the ownership of Farhad Moshiri, but are looking forward with optimism since the Friedkin Group completed a takeover in December.
The new owners have since hired Moyes as Dyche’s replacement, with the Scot taking the Toffees above Manchester United in the Premier League table with 12 games left to play, while plans to move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium next season are on track.
