David Wagner in running to replace Philippe Clement as Rangers meeting revealed
David Wagner has emerged as a surprise candidate to replace Philippe Clement as the Rangers manager, but another candidate has already been ruled out.
Rumours about who could be the next manager to take the reins at Ibrox are rife after Rangers sacked Clement on Sunday (23 February) in the aftermath of a demoralising 2-0 defeat against St. Mirren in the Scottish Premiership.
Issame Charai has been assigned to oversee the first team’s training session on Monday (24 February) and could be in the dugout when the Light Blues lock horns with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Wednesday, 26 February.
However, the plan is for the Ibrox hierarchy to hire a caretaker manager until the end of the season as things stand, with Fraser Thornton spotted arriving at Auchenhowie on Monday morning.
