James Tavernier finally out as Clement sacked – Rangers predicted XI v Kilmarnock

Rangers could see four changes made to their starting line-up as they prepare for their first game without Philippe Clement.

Clement was relieved of his duties after the Gers lost 2-0 against St Mirren on Saturday (22 February), leaving the Light Blues sitting 13 points away from Celtic.

There’s no time to rest though with a Scottish Premiership clash against Kilmarnock coming on Wednesday, with changes very likely.

James Tavernier could be axed for Rangers

While it is unsure who will be in charge of the Gers for now, whoever it is could choose to make a number of big changes to the line-up to try and spark something new in the Light Blues squad.

Therefore, Jack Butland could drop to the bench with Liam Kelly coming in to take his place. Although the woes cannot be blamed on one man, Butland has conceded 17 goals this term and after another two on Saturday, a refresh could be needed.

Tavernier could also drop to the bench to allow Rafael Fernandes to enter the fold. The 22-year-old has made just two Scottish Premiership appearances this term, and many fans have simply had enough of the captain now.

Robin Propper and Jefte are likely to retain their places but John Souttar could come in to take Clinton Nsiala’s place in the side. The 21-year-old made an error leading to a St Mirren goal on Saturday which could see him demoted to the bench.

Mohamed Diomande and Nico Raskin are likely to retain their places in the midfield although everyone will need to lift their levels from what was shown on Saturday.

Danilo could enter the Rangers side

Vaclav Cerny has been the standout performer this season and is likely to retain his place in the team alongside Ianis Hagi who remains a creative spark in the final third.
