The story of Facundo Buonanotte at Leicester is a peculiar one. He’s gone from one of their best players to a fringe option under Ruud.

The Argentine has been in from the off in just three league fixtures following the change of manager in December, much to the confusion of fans.

Buonanotte earned praise for his efforts when he came on against Brentford this week but for whatever reason, Van Nistelrooy continues to select two underperforming, slower, less creative options on either flank ahead of him.

Should a new manager arrive this season, it seems obvious the Brighton and Hove Albion loanee, who is valued at £48m, will quickly cement himself as a regular starter once more.

Stephy Mavididi is in a very similar situation to Buonanotte under Van Nistelrooy.

Jordan Ayew and Bobby De Cordova-Reid have done very little to deserve their continued inclusion in the eleven.

But while he’s not perfect, Mavididi offers a more direct attacking threat and is actually able to create chances using his pace and quick feet.
