The Europa League playoff round is officially over, and Tottenham Hotspur watched eight rivals exit the competition, including a few big names.

Despite Tottenham Hotspur’s struggles in the Premier League, where they currently sit in the bottom half of the table, their performances in the Europa League have been relatively strong.

Ange Postecoglou’s men managed to secure a top-eight finish in the League phase of the European competition, which meant that they secured automatic qualification to the next round.

With automatic qualification secured, the north London club avoided two extra playoff games, earning themselves much-needed rest before the competition kicks off again in March.

Meanwhile Ajax, AZ Alkmaar, Bodø/Glimt, FCSB, Fenerbahçe, Real Sociedad, Roma, Viktoria Plzeň are all through to the next round.

Tottenham Hotspur now know they will face either Real Sociedad or AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League Round of 16, as both the Spanish and Dutch sides emerged victorious in their respective matchups.
