Tottenham remain interested in signing winger ‘similar to Cole Palmer’ despite having to pay over £50m to land him
TBR Football understands that Southampton will demand in excess of £50 million for Tottenham Hotspur target Tyler Dibling this summer.
Tottenham tried to sign Dibling in January, but Ange Postecoglou’s team failed to get the deal over the line during the winter window.
The North London club still hold a strong interest in the 18-year-old and are expected to return for him in the summer.
However, Dibling is widely recognised as one of the top young English prospects in the Premier League and subsequently has many other major clubs also chasing his signature.
Tottenham facing strong competition for Tyler Dibling
Tyler Dibling has already made it clear to Southampton that he will not sign a new contract at St Mary’s and the Saints are now ready to sell him, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.
The South Coast club value him over £50 million and do not see a reason why he should go for less than what they sold Romeo Lavia to Chelsea for in 2023.
Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs interested in the winger with Chelsea, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest also very keen.
TBR Football can reveal that Man United, Forest and Newcastle all sent scouts to watch Dibling at the weekend as he played 34 minutes off the bench against Bournemouth.
Bundesliga sides RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are expected to be in the race to land the teenager too, with Leipzig having considered Dibling last month.
Tyler Dibling compared to Cole Palmer
Dibling has been compared to Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer by Dion Dublin who sees many similarities in their games.
The former Premier League striker has admitted he is a big fan of Dibling’s ability on the ball and the intelligence the youngster uses to get into dangerous positions on the pitch.
