Perhaps unfairly, Nottingham Forest and the transfer window tend to remind people of the infamous 2022 summer transfer spree under Steve Cooper.

A whopping 23 new arrivals walked into the Forest training ground in the 2022 summer window as Cooper looked to build a strong enough squad to survive in the Premier League.

In hindsight, the success rate was fairly reasonable. Morgan Gibbs-White signed from Wolves and is now one of Nuno Espirito Santo’s key performers, with Liverpool looking at Gibbs-White as a potential addition in the future.

Another success has been Danilo, who recently returned from injury for Forest. Danilo signed for Forest from Palmeiras and had begun to truly assert himself in the Premier League after slowly earning his place in the Forest squad in the 2022/23 season.

With the number of incoming players that year, though, there were bound to be some less memorable names. One of whom was a striker who was picked out by Evangelos Marinakis for his Premier League pedigree, but now looks set to drop down to the Championship.

Emmanuel Dennis could leave Nottingham Forest with Championship side keen

Emmanuel Dennis joined Forest in August 2022 after scoring ten Premier League goals for Watford in the previous season, but he would never recreate that form at the City Ground.

Forest were ready to let Dennis leave in 2023 with the striker only a year into his time at the club, but a succession of loans has meant that the Nigerian is still on the books at Forest, earning £40,000 per week according to Capology.

Another move for Dennis looks set to materialise in January, with Sheffield Wednesday journalist, Alex Miller, claiming that the Owls are looking at the Forest man.

Miller understands that Dennis is: “One of the striker options being considered at Wednesday.” However, in a later tweet, Miller clarified that:
