Guglielmo Vicario exit: ‘Unhappy’ Tottenham star ‘to demand summer transfer’

Guglielmo Vicario could look to quit Tottenham just two years after signing for the club.

Vicario has been sidelined with injury since November, with Spurs bringing in Antonín Kinský during the winter transfer window thanks to Daniel Levy’s personal involvement.

Kinský has made a flying start to life in North London, with Ange Postecoglou’s side mooted to hold talks with Vicario as a result.

Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t think the Italian is very happy at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium right now.

“I believe Kinský will be our first-choice goalkeeper moving forward,” Wenham said.

“Therefore, do you think Vicario is happy about being the number two? Absolutely not. He will have ambitions of his own. Since joining Spurs, he has become an Italy international player. Therefore, I think Vicario might be angling for a transfer away from the club in the summer.

“Kinský has a great opportunity to establish himself with some winnable games coming up. As a result, it would then be difficult for Vicario to get himself back in the side.”

Guglielmo Vicario to quit Tottenham?

Ahead of his injury Vicario looked at no threat of losing his place in the Spurs team, especially with Fraser Forster expected to move on from the club in the summer.

However, since the arrival of Kinský, things have changed. The 21-year-old has made a flying start to life at Tottenham, and it looks as though dropping the shot-stopper could prove difficult.

Therefore, Vicario might be forced to spend the rest of the season on the bench when he does return.

Should this happen, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the 28-year-old move on from the club, as he is certainly good enough to be a first-team goalkeeper at many clubs across Europe.
