Rangers exit: Forward announces Ibrox exit in emotional message

Alex Lowry has sent an emotional message to Rangers fans after confirming a transfer to Wycombe Wanderers.

The 21-year-old completed a move to the League One side on Tuesday (21 January) after failing to play a single Scottish Premiership game this season.

With the midfielder’s contract set to expire in the summer [The Scottish Sun], the Gers have opted to sell the academy product who has since shared an emotional goodbye message on Instagram (21 January)

He said: “After 14 years at a place I called home, it’s time to move on. I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved within the club from the laundry staff to kitmen to the people in the canteen and everyone else, your help and time from the day I arrived to the day I left was incredible!

“It has been an honour to represent this club and a special thank you to Giovanni Van Bronckhorst and staff for giving me my debut at 18 for this massive institution and to complete my childhood dream of representing Rangers!

“Last but not least the fans, thank you for your amazing support from the time I broke through till now, I’ve appreciated every bit of it and loved playing in front of you whether that be home or away!
Again thank you and all the best in the future!

“We are the people!”

Alex Lowry sends emotional goodbye message to Rangers

The Scotland Under-21 international is a Light Blues fan and will be sorely missed in Govan for that very reason.

Supporters want to see more of their own starting at Ibrox week in and week out but that just hasn’t been the case in recent years.

It seems that this is something that the likes of Patrick Stewart want to work on but this transfer doesn’t appear to represent a step in the right direction.
