BEST SIGNING EVER;Rangers have signed their dream player finally

It’s a strange way to form an attachment but so be it!

RANGERS new boy Rafael Fernandes says he was sold on the idea of joining the Ibrox side because he used to play as them on the PlayStation!

The Ibrox side made the 6ft 3in Lille defender their first signing of the January window this lunchtime, on an initial loan deal with an option to buy built in.

And the 22-year-old, who came through at Sporting Lisbon’s much vaunted academy, has been speaking for the first time.

Ironically, considering his team-mate Hamza Igamane’s celebration which shows him sitting on the ground and playing a console, he revealed that his affection for the club was borne of him play as Rangers on the PlayStation.

He told RangersTV: “I have followed Rangers since I was a kid, so it is a club that I really love.

“This club has a lot of history and when I knew about the interest I really wanted to come here.

“I was aware of Rangers since I started to watch football, when I was five or six years old.

“I used to play the PlayStation and sometimes I played with Rangers.

“Now I am a Rangers player. It is a nice story, and I am really happy.

“My first impressions have been really good.

“I met some of my colleagues, some of the staff and all of them made me comfortable to start this new challenge.

“I met the coach yesterday, and he said what he expected from me, and he spoke a little bit about what he wants in the team and the club.

“It was a nice conversation.”
