Leeds United plot shock raid for 29-year-old Serie A midfielder – January deal could change everything

Leeds United are laying down plans for the January transfer window as Daniel Farke puts pressure on to ensure his squad get adequately strengthened in the middle of the season. He knows what his team lacks, and the club are keen to help the German coach.

The Whites have made a decent start to life back in the Premier League, with seven points from their opening five league games. However, Farke is aware that there are gaps in his squad that could be exposed later in the season if new signings are not brought in January.

The Leeds manager has been clear about the lack of quality options in the final third, and the club are working on plans to bring in a new winger and a new attacking midfielder in the winter transfer window.

While it appears Fulham winger Harry Winger may not be available in January despite his current contract situation, Leeds are working on a far more ambitious but attainable target ahead of the winter window.

Leeds United plot shock move for Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini

Pellegrini was expected to struggle to get into Gianpiero Gasperini’s plans at Roma this season. However, he fought his way back and showed his quality in goals against local rivals Lazio and in the Europa League against Nice.

He is now expected to remain in the team. However, the attacking midfielder could be moving on in the winter transfer window.

The midfielder’s contract runs out at the end of the season, and Roma are expected to sell him in January if he doesn’t sign a new deal.

Inter Milan have their eyes on him, but according to AS Roma Live, he is one of the names on Leeds’ shortlist of targets ahead of the winter window.
