Tottenham star Ben Davies’ stance on a move to Leeds United in the January transfer window
Leeds United continue to be linked with a plethora of different names as the final fortnight of the January transfer window takes shape, and one name being linked with Leeds is Ben Davies.
The 31-year-old defender is currently in the final six months of his Tottenham contract, believed to be worth a whopping £100,000 a week. Davies has been injured but was in contention to face Arsenal.
Leeds have been linked with Davies in the past. This month, Leeds are said to be ‘pushing hard’ to sign Davies with a ‘cut-price deal’ on the cards given his contract situation with Ange Postecoglou’s outfit.
Davies would be the sixth Wales international on the books at Elland Road if he was to join, alongside Karl Darlow, Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon, Dan James and Charlie Crew who has just joined Doncaster on loan.
Ben Jacobs shares Tottenham star Ben Davies’ stance on move
It would be a coup to land Davies. A player with almost 350 appearances for Tottenham to his name, and just eight away from winning his 100th Wales cap. Davies can play at either centre-back and left-back.
But with Leeds still in the Championship and Davies likely to attract plenty of interest moving forward, a deal is far from done. Ben Jacobs told The View podcast however, that Davies would be open to a move.
“Davies is a bit like Buendia, not averse to joining Leeds and dropping down to the Championship temporarily. But he knows that if he leaves on a free, that Premier League clubs will be interested.”

A move to Elland Road would see Davies link up with five of his Wales teammates, but also reunite with one of his best pals in the footballing world.
