Lawrence Shankland gets ‘lucrative’ transfer offer as ambitious European club make move for Hearts ace
The striker recently broke his silence on new contract talks
HEARTS star Lawrence Shankland is the subject of a shock transfer bid from an ambitious second tier club.
The Jambos skipper is out of contract at the end of the season and is set to leave the club after a three-year spell.
Turkish second tier club Amedspor have offered Scotland international Shankland a lucrative deal to continue his career, according to reports in the country.
They were only promoted to the second tier in the summer and have lofty plans to become a force in Turkish football.
They hit the headlines two years ago when a KNIFE was thrown at the Bursaspor keeper during a game which was disrupted by riots.
The Bursaspor players had to leave the stadium in armed vehicles.
Shankland, 29, has had a spell abroad before in Belgium with Beerschot but it was an unhappy time as the Antwerp club were relegated.
Since then, he’d gone on to score 51 league goals in 87 starts for Hearts although his form has taken a dip this term.
He’s only found the net three times for the Jambos this season across all competitions.
Shankland’s Hearts future has been the subject of intense speculation for some time.
Links to Rangers just didn’t seem to go away while a host of English clubs were credited with an interest across recent transfer windows.
With his contract up at the end of the current campaign, it looks like Shankland will be on his way out of Tynecastle.
The striker rejected TWO contract offers from the club just under a year ago.
Speaking in November, Shankland revealed any talks over a new deal had stalled and suggested he was preparing to move on.
