Kris Boyd expects one Rangers player to seek January transfer exit

Rangers will allow some of their fringe players to leave the club this window.

The Ibrox outfit are on the hunt for incomings with no less than 11 players already having been linked with a move to Gers in January.

More names will come to add to the likes of Marko Soldo and Lyall Cameron who as we told you will not be leaving Dundee until the summer at least.

For Kris Boyd it is clear the club will have to ship out some players who have struggled to make a real impact in the first-team as they will need to accommodate the wages of others on their way in.

Kris Boyd says Leon King will look to leave Rangers

Leon King is one of those players as the defender has only managed two B team appearances this term without a run-out under Philippe Clement.

We exclusively told you how King changed agencies to potentially signal his desire to leave the club and there has been interest from Salford City in King previously.

Now Boyd believes he will be one of those guys who will be on the lookout for a new club where he can flourish as opposed to sitting on the bench or in the stands.

Speaking on Sky Sports Boydy said: “He’s probably in a position now where he’ll have to look elsewhere.

What Boyd has said about King’s future career

“He’s older than (Clinton) Nsiala, who’s come in. He must have thought he was a nailed-on starter last week.

“But there’s too many people in their comfort zone at Rangers and he may now have to move on.

“He’s had a period of time where it’s been stale for him, and now he’s on the bench with someone younger starting.”
