Graham Potter decides on Fullkrug as Bournemouth hunt deal for West Ham flop
Graham Potter is unlikely to let Niclas Fullkrug leave West Ham during the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.
The news outlet has reported (9 January) that the new Hammers boss will be keen to give the striker a chance in the side before making any concrete decisions on his future.
Furthermore, the East London outfit are looking to increase their striker options during the transfer window meaning the boss won’t be keen to let the summer signing leave.
Niclas Fullkrug can save West Ham career
Despite high hopes for the striker after his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, Fullkrug has really struggled to adapt to life at West Ham and has been far from impressive so far.
The 31-year-old has been limited to just nine Premier League appearances so far this term, admittedly large due to injury, and as a result has scored just two goals.
With this in mind, it’s no surprise that the striker was linked to an exit from The London Stadium this window with Ciro Venerato (7 January) reporting that the German was already in talks with Juventus over a move away.
However, with a new manager now in charge in East London, this could change the players’ fate in the Premier League.
Fullkrug missed a large chunk through injury but even when fit didn’t seem to convince Lopetegui but a new coach could breathe new life into the Germany international.
Therefore, the striker should use this as an opportunity to sell himself again and prove what he can do.
In other West Ham news, the Irons have submitted an offer for this Brazillian forward.
