SHOCKING NEWS;Leeds United swoop in for midfielder after West Ham get their bid rejected
Leeds United have major plans to strengthen their squad this summer as they push to carry out an overhaul ahead of their return to the Premier League next season. The Whites are now pressing to get a few more deals over the line in the coming weeks.
The Yorkshire giants have done some decent business since earning promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season, but more needs to be done in the coming weeks.
Leeds have signed Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer this summer to bolster their attacking options, and have snapped up Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw to bolster their defence, but the club have plans to strengthen across the board in the ongoing transfer window.
The Whites are looking at midfield reinforcements, with particular emphasis on players who can play multiple roles in the team, something which Leeds manager Daniel Farke admires.
El Hadji Malick Diouf was a standout performer for Senegal as they beat England 3-1 at the City Ground last month, and that performance has turned heads in the Premier League.
West Ham are interested in getting their hands on the midfielder, but according to the Sunday Mirror via MOTLeedsNews, Slavia Prague have rejected a bid from the Hammers.
The Serbian side have knocked back an offer of £17.25m with add-ons from West Ham as they seek to hold out for at least a package of £21.6m.
Leeds are also keen to get their hands on the 20-year-old midfielder, and West Ham’s failed bid has pushed the Whites to try and secure a deal for the player quickly.
The Yorkshire giants are pressing forward to try and work out an agreement to take Diouf to Elland Road in the ongoing transfer window.
